That was exactly how I felt at Maxine and Edel’s Pocono Palms wedding – a venue I had dreamed of photographing and one that exceeded expectations. With its unique architecture, iconic arches, and stylish checkered floors, Pocono Palms was the perfect setting for a day full of love and vibrant celebration.
Getting Ready at Pocono Palms
The day began in a lively, colorful suite where Maxine and her friends got ready. The room buzzed with excitement, and one of my favorite moments was a striking portrait of Maxine against a neon pink sign that read, “I got you babe.” This detail reflected both her personality and the playful vibe of their Pocono wedding day.

Their first look unfolded right on the black-and-white checkered dance floor. More than just a moment of anticipation, it set the tone for the rest of their day — romantic, fun, and completely them.

The ceremony was held outdoors, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Poconos. Instead of a traditional wedding party, Maxine and Edel added a unique twist: the rings were hidden under a guest’s chair! The laughter and surprise made this ceremony feel personal, interactive, and unforgettable.
Celebrating with Family and Friends
Taking photos with Maxine and Edel’s family and friends felt just like being part of the party. They decided against having a traditional wedding party, but you could tell from the photos that if they did, it would’ve been huge – Maxine has a ton of friends!
The pictures we got were full of laughter and silly moments, which just goes to show, you don’t need a formal setup to get awesome shots with your friends. It was all about capturing those real, spontaneous smiles and the kind of tight-knit vibes you feel with people who mean the world to you. Everyone was just having a blast, and it definitely shows in every photo.

As evening fell, golden hour lit up the gardens of Pocono Palms. Even with softer light, we captured stunning portraits of the couple near the bridge on the property — a perfect backdrop for their Poconos wedding photos.

From their heartfelt first dance that transformed into a full-blown dance party, to speeches that included playful medals celebrating Edel’s service as a Marine, every detail reflected the couple’s vibrant spirit.
